This is a rather large self-imposed loss, but Texas Tech coach Tommy Tuberville said that suspended DE Scott Smith will be on the shelf for the rest of the season for the violation of team rules. Must have been a good one.
A highly-ranked JUCO transfer, Smith was one of the best defenders for the Red Raiders. He had been suspended before the game against Baylor.
He had 14 tackles, two sacks and one INT in four games, but he really made his mark in a dominant performance against the Longhorns.
Tuberville said that Smith will be allowed to practice. How fun for him.
The Red Raiders host Oklahoma State this weekend.
