Watching TCU director of athletics Chris Del Conte on Wednesday night at the "town hall meeting" was uncomfortable at times. Del Conte, associate AD Davis Babb and Frog Club director John Denton, all three fielded questions from the few hundred fans who had questions about the new plans surrounding the redesign of Amon G. Carter Stadium.
One fan almost sounded like he wanted to fight Del Conte on the stage ... which might have been fun to watch.
The athletic department is trying to do the right thing by taking questions, hearing concerns and figuring out a way to help individuals out.
But here is the truth:
- Ticket prices are going to go up. By how much, who knows? The fact that an average ticket to a TCU game is around $30 is a steal, so don't expect such bargain prices for the new digs.
- Fans who had been long-time season ticket holders in one area had probably better brace themselves to move, unless they want to fork over more cash for the same seat.
- Parking is going to be a bit tougher as construction crews will occupy some of the lots that are currently closer to the stadium.
- This is what athletic departments do as the become more "big time"; they get more of your money. And those who have given more of it have this weird tendency to have the better seat.
- There will be complaining, but people will get over it and the new stadium will be nice.

Right on. This is the cost of being a power. I don't want to hear any complaints.
