Texas defensive end Sam Acho has been selected as a finalist for the Campbell Trophy, given to the top scholar-athlete among the nation’s college football players.
Each finalist for the Campbell Trophy, formerly known as the Draddy Trophy, receives an $18,000 post-graduate scholarship from the National Football Foundation. Acho, who is on pace to graduate in December with a business degree, is the third different Longhorns to be recognized as a finalist in the past four seasons. Former Texas center Dallas Griffin won the award in 2007. Former quarterback Colt McCoy was a finalist last year.
