Had some computer problems here at JerryWorld for Arkansas/A&M game.
Early thoughts ...
* I may have been a bit premature on the Baylor Going to a Bowl Game thing. Against "real" Big 12 competition, the Bears defense looked awful in giving up 635 yards against the Red Raiders, who saved their season by winning by 7 points against Baylor for the third consecutive season.
* The Bears are 4-2, and have at least two more losses on their schedule in Texas and Oklahoma.
* The Red Raiders really missed DE Scott Smith. Coach Tommy Tuberville suspended the juco transfer DE before the game for disciplinary reasons; and it showed as Baylor QB Robert Griffin III passed for 384 yards. Smith makes plays, and neither defense has many defenders who do that.
* Hate to say this game down to one play, but .... it's going to be hard for Baylor players, coaches, staff, fans and anyone else not to ask "What If?" about 345,135 times on RHIII pass to WR Kendall Wright that was dropped in the endzone at around the 4 minute mark of the fourth quarter. It would have tied the game.
You couldn't blame RGIII for the irritated look on his face after the play.
Hard to kill Wright, who caught 11 passes for 145 yards and 1 TD ... but it kinda would have been a big score.
* Texas Tech may not be the Texas Tech of the Graham Harrell-to-Michael Crabtree days, but the Red Raiders are still better than Baylor.
