With TCU set to join the basketball-mad Big East Conference in a couple of years it has been brought to the attention of some of the administrators that they need to put at least a few dollars into men's basketball. A source at the school said there are plans in the works to fast track some work on aging Daniel-Meyer Coliseum. When the building is full, which hasn't been exactly a regular event in the past decade, the place actually rocks. Ask anyone who attended games at DMC when Billy Tubbs had his best teams in the '90s and they will tell you with fondness how loud this place can be. That isn't the issue.
The school is looking at ways to widen the concourse, put more restrooms on the main level, and perhaps increase concessions.
They would also like to make the exterior of the building a bit more pleasing to the eye.
These plans had been in the discussion phase for a while, but the move to the Big East has put them up the priority list.
