Baylor football coach Art Briles is excited about the recruiting ramifications of having two seniors from last year’s team, offensive lineman Danny Watkins and defensive tackle Phil Taylor, in New York for the live telecast of the 2011 NFL Draft. Both players have accepted invitations to be in New York for the April 28 start of the draft and Briles has made plans to join them.
“We’ll be one of the only schools with two guys in the Green Room (at the draft),” Briles said during today’s conference call with Big 12 football coaches. “It’s great publicity for Baylor … and it really makes a big difference. All of these high school kids watch the NFL draft. It’s become a big event.”
