One of the best spring football showings involving a 2011 Tarrant County signee came from Nebraska’s Jamal Turner, a standout quarterback during his career at Arlington Sam Houston.
Turner, who graduated early from high school and enrolled in January, moved to receiver during spring drills with the Cornhuskers. He emerged as one of the starts in the team’s recent spring football game, grabbing four passes for 93 yards, including a 49-yarder for a touchdown.
Turner also contributed a 54-yard kickoff return and a 59-yard punt return. Expect Turner to be an impact freshman for the Huskers during next year’s inaugural season in the Big Ten.

Jamal Turner has made great achievements despite his sudden lose of his mom at the beginning of his senior year! He is a go getter and I am prayerful and hopeful that he will have a successful career in football. Jamal, I see you doing great things!!!!!
