University of Texas assistant Rodney Terry is to be announced as the next head basketball coach at Fresno State later Thursday, according to a source with knowledge of the situation.
Terry just completed his ninth season on Rick Barnes' staff and during that time has become one of the Longhorns' top recruiters. Terry would replace Steve Cleveland, who resigned March 17 after six seasons.
Terry previously served as an assistant at Baylor and North Carolina-Wilmington, as well as the head coach at Angleton and Somerville High Schools.--Mike Jones.
