SAN DIEGO -- TCU defeated BYU 12-5 in an elimination game at the Mountain West Conference tournament at Tony Gywnn Stadium. The Horned Frogs (41-16) meet the loser of Thursday's late game between New Mexico and Utah at 5 p.m. (CT) Friday in another elimination game. If the Frogs, the tournament's No. 1 seed, win that game, they'll play the winner New Mexico-Utah winner at 9 p.m. Friday to try to force a championship game at 3 p.m. (CT) Saturday against the same two teams. TCU lost its opener Wednesday, which put them in the loser's bracket.
