Texas Tech president Guy Bailey said today he has “complete confidence” in athletic director Kirby Hocutt, who came to the school in March from Miami, where former Hurricanes' booster Nevin Shapiro claims he provided at least 72 athletes with improper benefits from 2002 to 2010.
“We think Kirby has great integrity,” Bailey said. “The NCAA has not even contacted him (in its ongoing Miami investigation) … It suggests they don’t think he had any involvement in it.”
