Four veteran Texas players will not be part of the team in 2011, including receiver Malcolm Williams, a senior who has given up football for personal reasons. Coach Mack Brown said Williams (24 catches, 334 yards, 2 TDs last season) informed him of his plans this morning, shortly before teammates reported to begin fall workouts.
Also opting to voluntarily leave the team were receiver Brock Fitzhenry and linebacker Patrick Nkwopara, a South Grand Prairie graduate. Tight end Trey Graham will be switched to a medical scholarship because of a knee injury, Brown said. Texas practices for the first time Friday.
