Baylor opens at No. 12 in AP men's basketball poll, matching highest preseason rank in school history

Baylor will open the season as the Big 12’s highest-ranked men’s basketball team in The Associated Press preseason poll, released today.

The Bears received the No. 12 spot in the poll, matching the highest preseason ranking in program history. Baylor, an 18-13 team last season, landed one spot ahead of No. 13 Kansas. Other Big 12 teams to earn preseason rankings were No. 20 Texas A&M and No. 25 Missouri.

Baylor also placed 12th in the coaches’ preseason poll, released Oct. 20.
