Haltom offensive tackle Halapoulivaati Vaitai has switched his verbal commitment from Texas Tech to TCU, Haltom coach Scot Hafley said Monday.
"I can verify he has switched his commitment," Hafley said. "He's talked to both Tommy Tuberville at Texas Tech and Gary Patterson at TCU."
The 6-foot-6, 270 pound Vaitai had been committed to the Red Raiders since April. He becomes the 19th verbal pledge for TCU's 2012 signing class.
Verbal commitments are non-binding and National Signing Day is Feb. 1.
