TCU receiver Antoine Hicks will not play in Wednesday’s Poinsettia Bowl for violating school policy, coach Gary Patterson said. Hicks, a senior from Mansfield Timberview, sent a twitter message Monday indicating that he was traveling to Indiana.
Patterson said the matter was not academically related and that Hicks is still scheduled to graduate in May.
Hicks is the Horned Frogs’ third-leading receiver with 347 yards on 33 receptions. He has played in all 12 games. Freshman David Porter will likely replace Hicks in the starting lineup.
No. 18 TCU (10-2) meets Louisiana Tech (8-4) at 7 p.m. Wednesday in the Poinsettia Bowl in San Diego.
