Aledo quarterback Matthew Bishop, who helped the Bearcats to three consecutive state titles and was named Offensive MVP of last month's Class 4A Division state title game, has committed to Tarleton State, Aledo coach Tim Buchanan said on Thursday.
In 16 games last season, Bishop posted 3,000 yards and 33 TDs passing and was Aledo's second-leading rusher behind Texas-bound Johnathan Gray, accounting for 578 yards and eight TDs on the ground.
Bishop should be somewhat accustomed to his new confines as Tarleton's home games are played at Memorial Stadium, which is also the home of Aledo's rival - Stephenville High.
