Baylor officials have scheduled a Saturday celebration at the Ferrell Center to honor the Bears’ football team and quarterback Robert Griffin III, the 2011 Heisman Trophy winner.
The event, which is free to the public, begins at 7 p.m. in Waco. Fans will be allowed to take their picture with the Heisman Trophy and with the team’s championship trophy from the Alamo Bowl.
Baylor (10-3) finished No. 13 in Tuesday’s final Associated Press poll and placed 12th in the final coaches poll. It marked Baylor’s highest finish since 1986 in the post-season polls. The Bears matched the school record for victories in a season, established in 1980.
