TCU forward Starr Crawford, who has not played this season after a preseason injury, will not return to the team next season.
Crawford, whose Mansfield Summit team beat Brittney Griner and Houston Nimitz in the Class 5A state title in 2009, had a blossoming career for the Horned Frogs until sustaining a concussion in a game at the end of the 2010-2011 season.
She missed the Frogs final four games, including two Mountain West tournament games and an NIT postseason game. She was named All-MWC second team as a sophomore and was named to the league’s All-Defensive team.
“I am saddened for Starr as she has been a key part of our team’s success,” TCU coach Jeff Mittie said in a released statement.
The junior was expected to return this season and was named to the preseason All-MWC team, but another concussion during practice sidelined her before the season began. Crawford is still enrolled at TCU and is scheduled to graduate in 2013.
