Texas coach Rick Barnes says coaches are still awaiting update today on status of Alexis Wangmene, who injured his left wrist Saturday against Kansas. Wangmene is seeing a specialist today in San Antonio and there is a good chance Wangmene (4.6 points, 4.7 rebounds per game) may miss the remainder of the season.
If so, Barnes said Texas will adjust on the fly without the team’s most physical interior defender.
“We would treat it like we did when … other people missed games,” Barnes said during today’s Big 12 teleconference. “Other guys would have to play and do the job. You hope you’ve done enough in your system to adjust.”
