Baylor officials announced their second significant gift toward construction of the school’s new, on-campus football stadium targeted to open for the 2014 season. The donation announced today, characterized as one of the top five capital gifts in school history, came from alumnus John Eddie Williams, Jr. School officials said the field at the new facility, which will be named Baylor Stadium, will be called John Eddie Williams Field. In March, Baylor alum and former Houston Astros owner Drayton McLane, Jr. made a lead gift toward construction of the facility, which will be located along the Brazos River with a capacity of 45,000.
