Shelbi Vaughan, a Mansfield Legacy graduate who will be a freshman at Texas A&M in the fall, qualified for the finals in the women’s discus today at the IAAF World Junior Championships in Barcelona, Spain. Vaughan qualified on her first throw of 179 feet, 8 inches (54.78 meters) and will be seeded third in Sunday’s meet finals.
