Baylor head coach Art Briles was named Big 12 Coach of the Week by CBSSports.com after his impressive win over the SMU Mustangs on Sunday.
I think a lot of people were surprised with Baylor’s performance over the weekend, but now Briles' praises are coming in written form and on a national level.
The author of the crowning article, Patrick Southern, wrote, “Teams simply aren’t supposed to replace that sort of talent (Robert Griffin III) offensively without skipping a beat, but at least for one week, Baylor did.”
Southern also mentioned how Baylor’s performance should put rest to the rumors of the Big 12 being a shallow conference.
Briles seems to be proving his coaching abilities more and more (not that they were really ever questioned) and proving that his team can have success post-RG3.
Congrats Briles. We hope to see you back on this list again.
