Texas Tech announced Monday it will host its Oct. 6 game against Oklahoma at 2:30 p.m. and will be broadcast on ABC, ESPN or ESPN2.
No. 16 Oklahoma will enter the game off of a bye this week while Tech seeks to begin Big 12 Conference play with a win at Iowa State at 6 p.m. Saturday.
The Sooners, coming off a home loss to No. 7 Kansas State, have not beaten the Red Raiders in Lubbock since 2003 — a span of three games.
Tech has played its last two games against Oklahoma in Norman, Okla.
If Tech succeeds in beating the Cyclones on Saturday, the possibility if a Top 25 matchup between the Red Raiders and Sooners becomes more realistic.
In this week's AP Top 25 poll, Tech received 10 votes.
