Oklahoma receiver Jalen Saunders, a transfer from Fresno State, has been cleared to play by the NCAA, coach Bob Stoops announced Wednesday. NCAA officials approved an eligibility appeal for Saunders, who caught 50 passes for 1,065 yards and 12 touchdowns last season at Fresno State (21.4 per catch). Stoops said he hopes to use Saunders in Saturday’s Red River Rivalry game against Texas.
“He’s played a lot of football and played it well,” Stoops said. “We’re hopeful that he will be able to play (Saturday). He’s quick, got a great sense of space and the ability to get open.”
