TCU coach Gary Patterson told Star-Telegram columnist Randy Galloway that suspended quarterback Casey Pachall will not be suited up or on the sideline Saturday for the Horned Frogs' Big 12 game against Iowa State at 2:30 p.m. at Amon G. Carter Stadium.
Patterson said Thursday that he planned to have Pachall, who was arrested for DWI early that morning, suit out in a uniform and be with the team on the sideline so that Pachall couldn't hide and would be with his team "win, lose or draw."
But Patterson changed his mind Friday and said Pachall's presence on the sideline potentially posed too much of a distraction for his team. Patterson maintained that he wouldn't decide on the length of Pachall's suspension until after Saturday's game.
