Red River Rivalry will have no Top 10 team from AP poll for first time since 1999

For the first time since 1999, the Red River Rivalry will not have a Top 10 team participating when No. 13 Oklahoma (3-1, 1-1 in Big 12) meets No. 15 Texas (4-1, 1-1) at 11 a.m. Saturday in Dallas. The Sooners improved four spots in this week’s AP poll by beating Texas Tech, 41-20, and Texas fell four spots by losing to No. 5 West Virginia, 48-45. In 1999, No. 23 Texas defeated unranked Oklahoma, 38-28, during coach Bob Stoops’ first season with the Sooners.
