Senior junior defensive end Stansley Maponga is a game-time decision for Saturday’s game, and will be remain questionable throughout the season, Patterson said.
Maponga left the Baylor game just before the end of the first half with a foot injury and remained on the sidelines out of his pads during the second half. “It’s going to be how he can tolerate the pain.
At some point in time after the season he’s probably going to have surgery. It’s something he’s had since he was a freshman in his other foot and how he tolerates it will depend on if he’ll play.”
Patterson said freshman Josh Carraway will take more reps in practice in case Maponga cannot play, adding depth to the position.
