Texas defensive end Jackson Jeffcoat ruptured a right pectoral muscle in Saturday’s 63-21 loss to Oklahoma and will miss the remainder of the season, team trainers announced Sunday. Jeffcoat, a junior, led the team in tackles for losses (11) and ranked second in sacks (4).
In addition, X-rays on the injured left wrist of quarterback David Ash showed no fracture. Ash has not been ruled out for Saturday’s game against Baylor and will continue to be evaluated throughout the week. Trainers said Ash took a direct hit from a helmet to the wrist during the OU game.
Defensive tackle Brandon Moore (neck sprain) and offensive tackle Donald Hawkins (left ankle) will be evaluated later this week to determine their availability for Saturday’s game against Baylor. Neither player returned to the OU game after being injured.
