Texas A&M landed four players today on the All-America team selected by the Football Writers Association of America, a 26-member squad that included only first-team honorees. It marked the largest contingent of first-team honorees in school history and the most by any school this season, with the list including quarterback Johnny Manziel, defensive end Damontre Moore and offensive tackles Luke Joeckel and Jake Matthews.
Joeckel, an Arlington High School graduate, won the 2012 Outland Trophy and Manziel, a redshirt freshman, won the 2012 Heisman Trophy.
Baylor receiver Terrance Williams, a finalist for the Biletnikoff Award, was the only other honoree from a Texas college on the FWAA squad. In addition to Williams, other honorees from Big 12 schools included West Virginia receiver Stedman Bailey and Kansas State linebacker Arthur Brown.
