Pat Evans and Bobby McGee, two past presidents of the Davey O’Brien Foundation, have been selected as co-recipients of the 2012 Charles Ringler Founder’s Award. The award, established in 2004, honors an individual or corporation that has exhibited longtime devotion to the foundation and will be presented during the Davey O’Brien Awards Dinner, Feb. 18 at the Fort Worth Club.
Evans served as president of the O’Brien Foundation from 2000-2005 and helped create the Legends Award in 2001. McGee, the foundation president from 2005-2010, oversaw creation of the fan vote that is part of today’s selection process for the Davey O’Brien National Quarterback Award. The 2012 recipient, Texas A&M quarterback Johnny Manziel, also will be honored Feb. 18 at the Fort Worth Club.
