An unpredictable men’s college basketball season has included lots of turnover at the top spot of the weekly polls. It still includes plenty of remaining uncertainty, and multiple opinions _ depending on the analyst consulted _ when discussing the national player of the year for the 2012-13 season.
There are at least seven to 10 viable candidates, with Bovada Sports Book (www.bovada.lv) citing Michigan point guard Trey Burke as a slight favorite (2/1) to claim The Associated Press’ top player honor in odds released today. Others in the top three included Indiana forward Victory Oladipo (7/2) and Georgetown forward Otto Porter (9/2).
From the Big 12, Oklahoma State guard Marcus Smart (20/1) and Kansas guard Ben McLemore (20/1) cracked the top 10 favorites. The full list:
