TCU men’s basketball announced the addition of forward Chris
Washburn Jr., a 6-foot-8 transfer from UTEP. Washburn, the son of former No. 3
overall NBA pick Chris Washburn Sr., ranked among Rivals.com’s top 120 players
of the 2012 recruiting class.
Washburn averaged 12 points, 10 rebounds and four assists as a senior at South Grand Prairie High School. He must sit out the 2013-14 season per NCAA transfer rules.
"He’s a versatile player with the ability to score down low or to step out and shoot it," TCU coach Trent Johnson said in a release. "He was one of the top players in the country his senior year in high school. We are fortunate to be able to add a young player with his talent to our roster at this time of the year."
