Backup QB Davis leaves Texas A&M, reportedly plans to enroll at Tyler JC #TAMU
Texas A&M quarterback Matt Davis, a redshirt freshman, has left the team and plans to transfer to another school. The website gigem247.com reported that Davis plans to enroll at Tyler Junior College, where he would be eligible to play this season. Davis fell behind two Tarrant County high school products, Matt Joeckel and Kenny Hill, in the race to be A&M’s backup to Johnny Manziel, the 2012 Heisman Trophy winner. Joeckel, a junior, played at Arlington High School. Hill, an incoming freshman, played at Southlake Carroll.
