Baylor coach Art Briles admits quarterback Bryce Petty is an
“unknown” quantity. Of course, Briles has high expectations, which include
Petty rewriting Baylor records set by former quarterbacks Robert Griffiin III
and Nick Florence the last two seasons. Briles said that was his expectation for Petty during July's Big 12 Media Days.
Briles said he has talked often to the junior from Midlothian High about creating an identity on the field.
"What are people going to say about you after you play? After you’ve had a game? How are they going to identify you?" Briles said. "Hopefully, everything will turn out where everybody is saying good things about him."
Baylor opens at home against Wofford at 6:30 p.m. Saturday.
