Baylor officials have returned more than 5,000 unsold Fiesta Bowl tickets from the school’s allotment for its first appearance in a BCS bowl, Jan. 1 against Central Florida. The school, which had to pay upfront for 17,500 tickets set aside for each participating team, has sold roughly 11,000 tickets and still had 1,000 seats available Monday through online sales (www.baylorbears.com) or at the school’s ticket office in Waco. No. 6 Baylor (11-1) earned its BCS bowl berth against No. 15 UCF (11-1) by winning its first Big 12 football championship in school history.
