Texas Tech has sold 34,100 season football tickets, a school-record, for its 2014 fall campaign, officials announced Tuesday. The figure breaks the previous mark of 32,227, set in 2010. With five months left to sell seats, the school is closing in on a sellout of all available season tickets (38,600) in Jones AT&T Stadium, which has a capacity of 60,454.
Tech’s six-game slate of 2014 contests in Lubbock includes games against Central Arkansas, Arkansas, West Virginia, Kansas, Oklahoma and Texas. The Red Raiders, coming off an 8-5 season under coach Kliff Kingsbury, play their spring game Saturday in Lubbock (11 a.m., Fox Sports Southwest).
