Today, Navy should help bring one of the bigger crowds UNT has seen at Fouts Field in some time. Heck, Navy offensive tackle Josh Meek alone did his part. His family and friends bought 100 tickets. At UNT, that probably qualified the Meek family for "season-ticket holder for life" status.
A few weeks ago, the Middies traded in their summer whites (think Tom Cruise/Demi Moore in A Few Good Men) for the dress blacks, long coat and all. They should be nice and toasty today with summery weather back.
In all, 26 Navy players are from Texas, including one from the Fort Worth area, former Kennedale linebacker Matt Humison. This team must have a good following, because one of the end zones at Fouts is filling up. Hope they wipe away the dust first.
Deathly quiet in the press box for the national anthem. No one moved a muscle. More singing than usual in the bleachers. A few Staubach jerseys out there, as expected. Thanks to Fort Worth NAS/JRB for the flyover. That will never get old at college games.
