Fields earns first MWC honor after stellar game vs. Rice

TCU forward Amric Fields was named the Mountain West Conference Player of the Week after scoring 18 points and grabbing six rebounds in the Horned Frogs’ 78-74 win over Rice.
Fields, a sophomore, matched a season high with 18 points, shooting 7 of 11, including 2 of 5 from the 3-point arc. He also had two assists, two steals and a blocked shot in 22 minutes.
His 3-pointer gave TCU the lead late in the win against Rice. It’s Fields first MWC honor and the Frogs’ first this season. TCU (9-5) hosts UT Pan American (5-13) at 7 p.m. Wednesday at Daniel-Meyer Coliseum.
