After an uneventful practice on Monday it's become apparent that Matt Moore has all but won the third spot for quarterback. The rookie from Oregon State continues to show a nice touch, and, oh yeah, he played the more meangingful minutes in the preseason opener.
(Is that an oxymoron: Meaningful preseason minutes?)
His counterpart, Richard Bartel, played the final two minutes against the Colts and didn't attempt a pass. It's Moore's job to lose.
Also of note - former Cowboys guard Nate Newton ask that any comparison between Leonard Davis and Larry Allen stop. Immediately.
After the Colts game people were buzzing about the five-lane highways Big Leonard paved against the Colts' defensive line. But Newton said as good as Davis is, Allen was the man. Take his word for it; he was his teammate, and Allen is a lock for the Hall of Fame.
And, the Colts defensive line stinks. But Davis looks like he could have a Pro Bowl year.
