Uncharted territory

With the 34-3 victory over the Jets, the Cowboys are now 10-1 for the first time in franchise history.

The Cowboys record on Thanksgiving Day improves to 25-14-1, and the win also gives the Cowboys back-to-back Turkey Day victories for the first time since winning three straight from 1994-96.

The Cowboys now have a 3-1 record over AFC teams. The lone loss coming to the Patriots.

A little more about the number 10: This is the 25th time in club history that the Cowboys have recorded 10 wins. The previous 24 times have led to: 24 playoff berths, 18 divisional playoff games, 16 conference championship games, eight Super Bowl appearances and five Super Bowl championships.

Romo likes records

Tony Romo's fourth-quarter touchdown pass to Terrell Owens was his 29th touchdown pass of the season, tying Danny White's club record set in 1983.

Romo also has now thrown a scoring pass in 14 consecutive games, two shy of Troy Aikman's club record of 16 consecutive games set in 1994.

Owens' streak continues

Cowboys receiver Terrell Owens extended his streak of consecutive games with a touchdown catch to six. He caught a 22-yard touchdown to give Dallas a 34-3 lead on the Jets in the fourth. One streak, though, appears to be ending. Owens had four consecutive games with 100 yards receiving but has 65 yards with 4 minutes left.

Captain Jones

It's no coincidence that the Cowboys made running back Julius Jones a captain for the Jets game.

It was suggested to coach Wade Phillips by a writer from the Star-Telegram. It's also in keeping with Phillips' penchant to give a pregame reward to a player who already might have a little incentive to have a good game.

In this case Jones is playing against his brother Thomas, a running back for the Jets. The entire Jones family in in town for the game, including their parents and five sisters.

The Jones clan had a Thanksgiving Day feast at Julius' house Wednesday night.

So far Julius is getting the best of his big brother -- on the scoreboard and on the field.

Julius has six carries for 35 yards while Thomas has three for -3.

The Cowboys are winning 7-0.

A Reversal of Scoring

With Marion Barber's 7-yard touchdown run against the Jets here early in the first quarter, the Cowboys have now scored opening-drive touchdowns in four or their last five games.

Before that, they had scored opening-drive touchdowns in only one of their previous 22 games.

Miles Austin can't be stopped

That was Austin Miles first career NFL catch. Can't be stopped.

Crayton out vs. Jets

Starting wide receiver Patrick Crayton (ankle) will not play today against the Jets. He will be replaced in the lineup by Sam Hurd.

The rest of the Cowboys inactives include: CB Evan Oglesby, RB/KR Tyson Thompson, G Joe Berger, T Doug Free, T James Marten, WR Terry Glenn and NT Remi Ayodele.

The Jets will be without starting wide receiver Laveranues Coles (ankle) today.

Patrick Crayton still out

Cowboys coach Wade Phillips said receiver Patrick Crayton (ankle) would not practice on Wednesday, and his status for Thursday's game is uncertain.
Crayton's injury is what the Cowboys feared. They just aren't very deep at the receiver position.
That means Sam Hurd would start. In his two-year NFL career, Hurd has 13 catches for 216 yards with a touchdown. He's shown flashes, and he'll probably have a long career, but like most young receivers he has trouble separating from defenders consistently.
This would also mean that second-year receiver Miles Austin, who has no catches in his career, would move into Hurd's slot at the No. 3 reciever.
Comparitavely speaker, Crayton has 103 career catches with 1,501 yards and 12 touchdowns.
If Crayton is out, expect a steady diet of passes to Terrell Owens and Jason Witten.
