Ware fined $12,500 for hit on Detroit QB

IRVING _ Cowboys linebacker DeMarcus Ware was fined $12,500 by the NFL for a hit on Detroit quarterback Jon Kitna in the Cowboys’ 28-27 win last week.

With Detroit facing a third-and-8 play on their second possession of the game, Ware was flagged for roughing the passer after picking Kitna up and slamming him to the ground. Kitna completed a 10-yard pass on the play.

Kitna finished the game with 248 passing yards and no touchdowns and was sacked once. Ware had four tackles.
