One coaching candidate for the Cowboys was believed to be former Baltimore Ravens secondary coach Dennis Thurman. The Cowboys are looking to replace secondary coach Todd Bowles, who is now in Miami. Thurman played for the Cowboys froms 1978-85 and was the heart of a secondary nicknamed ``Thurman's Thieves.''
But has yet to hear from the Cowboys and they have been in the same town in Mobile, Ala. Thurman would love to return to Dallas but is losing hope that it would be a possibility.
As far as defensive line, Chargers coach Wayne Nunnely, who Wade Phillips worked with in San Diego, is not believed to be under consideration. He remains under contract with the Chargers.
