Arkansas running back Darren McFadden, who attended an NFL Combine media day at the Michael Johnson Performance Center in McKinney Thursday, said the Cowboys made a great hire in former Razorbacks defensive coordinator Reggie Herring as linebackers coach.
Herring was at Arkansas the past three seasons. He served as the interim coach for the Cotton Bowl following head coach Houston Nutt's resignation. Herring accepted a job as defensive coordinator at Texas A&M before quitting after a month to join the Cowboys.
"He is a great coach," McFadden said. "He is hardnosed. I loved playing under Coach Herring when he was our interim head coach at the bowl game. He made it fun for us. I feel he is going to fit the Cowboys defense very well."
