Newman here to stay

Newman The Cowboys went after two cornerbacks in the draft and could have Pacman Jones on the way. This is not an indication the Cowboys are worried about not being able to re-sign CB Terence Newman. He becomes a free agent after this year and the Cowboys are fully commited to paying him.

Cowboys owner Jerry Jones values Newman greatly as a major cornerstone to his defense along with linebacker DeMarcus Ware. Cowboys vice president Stephen Jones said Newman won't be going anywhere.

Newman will want big cornerback money but the Cowboys are willing to pay the price to have him here. Now, this may say more about how they feel about the other starter -- Anthony Henry. He has been injury-prone since he arrived and will feel the pressure to stay healthy now.
