Southlake Carroll's Hartley lands with Broncos

Garretthartley_2 Former Southlake Carroll kicker Garrett Hartley (Oklahoma) has agreed to a free-agent deal with the Denver Broncos. He will report to Denver on May 16, his 22nd birthday. Hartley said the Broncos came calling one minute after the draft was over.

Hartley should have a solid chance at the job. Former Broncos kicker Jason Elam, who played 15 seasons in Denver, agreed to a deal with the Atlanta Falcons in March. If Hartley makes the team, it would give Carroll two NFL kickers (Kris Brown of Houston Texans is the other).
