Friday's schedule and fun with referees

Friday will be the start of a good little two-day test for the Cowboys now that we are a week into camp. The team has consecutive two-a-days on Friday and Saturday. If things go well, Wade Phillips might actually give them their first day off on Sunday. We'll see.

Today, the media will also get a real treat. We will have a briefing with the NFL referees on rules. Boy, getcha popcorn ready for that one, huh.

So what questions do you fans have out there for the NFL referees? I will try and get them answered. And be nice.

Why isn't the ref crew leader up in the review booth?

How is the movement the Indianapolis Colts Offensive linemen exhibit during Peyton's pre-snap histrionics NOT a false start? They are set, their hands are down, and then they stand up to hear what he said or look at him better, then they get set again. where's the flag?

It's easy to be critical of the refs because their jobs are very difficult. I must admit I'm one of those people. I believe I know the rules almost as well as the refs.

1. Are there going to be any reviews on penalties? Such as neutral zone infractions. (Ware would love that)

2. Any chance the "Roughing the Passer" rule is taken a little more lightly? I appreciate the spirit of the rule. After all, the safety of the players should be a top priority. But, it seems that there were way too many of these penalties called when the defender was simply finishing the play with no intent to injure.

3. Are there going to be any regulations on when a timeout can be called prior to a Field Goal attempt? I don't like that "Icing the Kicker" strategy. Personally, I think it's bush league.

I hope these questions will give you something good to work with. Thanks Rick
