Cowboys practice squad receiver Mike Jefferson has been suspended four games for violating the NFL's susbstance abuse policy.
Jefferson, a first-year player, was elevated off the practice squad for the season opener against Cleveland but did not play. He was activated because of injury problems at the position. Last week the Cowboys were back to full strength at receiver with the return of Sam Hurd.
The Cowboys will likely fill the practice squad position while Jefferson is on the suspended list.
