Postgame quotables, losing offense version

Here's what members of the Cowboys offense had to say after the 26-24 loss to the Redskins on Sunday:

Patrick Crayton

On what was frustrating about the game: Just leaving a bunch of points out there, not executing to our full potential. We had too many short drives, three and outs. We just play better than that and that's the frustrating part.

Did he think the coverage on Terrell Owens frustrated him? Maybe a little bit, but not really. We have some other weapons that we can use and to be able to exploit him so they can play honest. And when we do that, he gets the ball.

On the Redskins defense: Their defense played well. They had a game plan on what they wanted to do. They wanted to come in and limit the run. I think for the most part, they did that a little bit. And I guess they wanted us to dig into something else.

Jason Witten

On taking away the run game: We weren't having any success with it. We were playing from behind a little bit. We were moving the ball in the passing game and we fell behind a little. Unfortunately, we weren't able to get things going, they were able to stop us.

On having the longest play of only 23 yards: It's disappointing, but at the same time, what's more disappointing is not taking what the defense gives us. Usually, we are able to hit the things underneath and make big plays out of them. Get the running game going. Total effort offensively, and we just didn't play our style which is disappointing, especially with a team like this.

Sam Hurd

On the onside kick: I know I had it. Actually, I don't know how it dropped. Can't tell you how, but it sucks. It hurts and we just have to move on now.

On the execution of the onside kick: It was perfectly executed. We just have to make the play and that was it. All I had was one job to do, and I didn't get it done for the team.
