Here's what members of the Cowboys defense had to say after their 41-37 victory over the Philadelphia Eagles on Monday night:
LB DeMarcus Ware
On Eagles QB Donovan McNabb: I was chasing that guy all day. He's probably one of the most elusive quarterbacks in the league other than [Michael] Vick. He's a great player and when you can take somebody down like that, it's a big accomplishment.
On the overall performance: In this game, it was a high-scoring game and a had a lot of big plays, but in the end, it's all about the W.
On the start this season: I think it's a good start. We showed how we play with adversity of being down some times, playthrough and getting ahead because we have a big game next week, too.
LB Bradie James
On struggles in the first half: The first half, we had to overcome something. We had a fumble, we had a lot of things happen, so we had to overcome some things. They always answer the bell. With that said, at halftime, we couldn't really say it was going to be zero-to-zero, we had to just come out and say forget it and play for sixty minutes. ... They got a fumble in the endzone, we gave up some points. It was thirty points and then we got a penalty on the first kickoff on the forty, so we did a better job than a lot of teams would ahve. What really matters is we won the game and we came out on top.
On the huddle was on the final drive: It was on us, if they didn't score, they don't win. That's kind of what you dream about, what champions dream about. It's still early and we definitely wanted to prevail and show that we are a team to be reckoned with. When the ball is in our court, we have to stand up and that's what we did on the defensive side today.
CB Adam "Pacman" Jones
On the last series: We had to hold them, first of all. Our whole thing was to get back out there in the second half and just play. Stop thinking so much. We got back out there and played and everything worked out.
On the overall game: This might be one of the greatest Monday night games ever. I had a blast out there in my first Monday night game. Getting better every week -- I'm enjoying myself!
On overcoming adversity: That just shows you how good of a team we are and how we stayed together. You didn't see anyone on the sidelines pouting, pointing any fingers. You didn't see that. We stayed together as a team and the sky is the limit. That wasn't near our best day. The offense played good, but defensive-wise, we can play a lot better. We'll see the film, we'll run things around and just keep right along.
