Postgame quotables, winning offense version

Here's what members of the Cowboys offense had to say after Sunday's victory over the Tampa Bay Bucs:

WR Roy Williams

On getting his first win as a Cowboy: I'm very happy with my first win as a Cowboy of the 2008 season. It was a great feeling to get a win, especially being in Texas Stadium, in front of the home crowd. Now, hopefully, we can string some wins together.

On having all his family here for the game:
It's a great feeling. After winning like we did today, now I get to go home. It's a great feeling to have my family here, and they're bigger Cowboys fans that I was. And to score a touchdown today -- my mom was more excited than I was.

On the touchdown relaxing him:
It doesn't relax me. I'm a professional and that's what I'm supposed to do. When my number's called, I need to make a play. I feel like I'm in high school again, standing next to my coach saying 'Am I going in coach? Can I play coach? Can I play? Can I play?' So when my number is called, I've got to make a play.

On the play of Brad Johnson: I think he played well. I know there's probably some throws that he wishes he had back, but everybody has those. But we won, and that's the big thing. So hopefully, now we can string some wins together.

On how he felt after scoring the touchdown: Great. That's what I'm supposed to do. That's what I was brought in for and that's what I said in my first interview when I came in here: all I want to do is help this team win. After I scored, it felt good, and my reaction after scoring was what I've been doing a long time -- putting the 'Horns Up. That's what I do and that's what I did. These fans know what it is. Up north, they didn't know what it was. But down south, they know what the Horns are.

On getting a win:
That's the big thing -- getting a win. I was 0-5 when I left from up there (Detroit), and just to get this first one under my belt -- this team's fifth -- that's a good feeling.

On this team turning:
I felt it in pregame and all throughout the week. Coach (Phillips) took care of us in practice, the captains came up to the team and addressed the issue and that's why we played with today's energy and came out with this win.

WR Patrick Crayton

On the offense moving down the field: We didn't do it enough. I'm glad the defense came to play today. They saved our butts. It was a defensive game. Our defense looked like the Bucs defense from 2002. I guess we played some Bucs ball. Some Tony Dungy ball. So it was good and we got the 'W', so that's all that matters.

On being happy with the win:
As long as it's a win, it doesn't matter how pretty or ugly it is. It's a 'W' in our column and a loss in the other team's column.

On not making many mistakes today:
That was a key point. We couldn't move it up and down the field, but we didn't hurt ourselves with turnovers and things like that. We didn't have a lot of penalties either.

On the receivers getting frustrated with a conservative offense:
A little bit. But we understand that if that's what it's going to take to get us W's, then that's what we're going to have to work with for a little while.

TE Jason Witten

On his injury:
I aggravated my rib. I'll get some tests tonight and tomorrow and find out what it is. I just took a shot there. It doesn't feel good right now, obviously.

On the pain being too much to play with: I tried to doctor it up a little bit at halftime and come back, but I just didn't have it in me. It's an unfortunate situation to have to come out of the game because you pride yourself in playing in the game and I just didn't have it.

On when he felt the pain:
After I got hit on a catch, I didn't feel it until the next play. I don't know if it was during a blocking play or during a catch. I felt it there. I'm hoping for the best and hopefully I'll get back out there next week.

On his injury history: I thought it was going to be fine. I've been pretty fortunate that I haven't had to deal with many injuries. In the past five years, I really haven't had any injuries. But I've got to fight through it and hopefully get back to it next week.

On winning a close game like this:
It shows a lot about this team. It does a lot for the character of this team and what we're made of. We've had a lot of big wins here, and of course, a few tough losses. But I think this team has a lot of character and it showed it today with the win. I think that's what is big -- that we're sticking to our plan and bouncing back. That's a good team we just played, so to get that win with the starting quarterback out, and with nothing pretty about that win -- speaks a lot.

A win is a win, and this win was much needed. However, until Romo comes back, this team will have little chance at beating the Giants. The Bucs are a decent team, but there offense doesn't scare anyone. The young corners will have their hands full with the passing game. Great game by the defensive frontline and linebackers. Kudos to Coach Phillips for coaching a great defensive game. I'm thankful the bye week is just around the corner.
