Wade Phillips really likes his rookie cornerback Orlando Scandrick, who had five tackles against the Bucs. He is becoming an impressive nickel cornerback.
So good Phillips says Scandrick will remain at nickel even when Terence Newman returns from his sport hernia surgery. Then in future nickel situations, Newman would play on the outside with Scandrick taking his spot in the slot. The fifth-round pick has become possibly this team's -- forget just rookie -- cornerback this season. Scandrick is not intimidated by the situation and plays an attacking style.
